Birdwing Activities

Birdwing meetings are held at 7:00 pm every fourth Tuesday at the North Bay Public Library Auditorium January through April, and October and November. During warmer months, meetings commence out-of-doors at the Information Centre at 6:30 pm.
Birds are fascinating! They come in many shapes, sizes and colours. You can often get close enough to study them, observe their behaviours, hear their lovely songs and they will even come to you if you have a feeder.

There are many permanent resident birds in the North Bay area and there are an even greater number of species that migrate north and south. The club has identified 270 species of birds within a radius of 50 km. So, you never know what surprises are in store for you when you venture out into the woods or along the water.
Each year the Naturalists Club hosts the annual Christmas Bird Count. In the past, they have had the distinction of being number ONE in the WORLD for numbers of participants!
