A Bit About the Naturalists Club |
||
The Nipissing Naturalists Club is made up of a friendly group of people who share similar interests such as caring for our environment and the creatures that inhabit it. At monthly meetings, guest speakers introduce club members to a variety of nature related topics. There are two meetings per month; one addresses general topics and the other focuses on birdwatching. Participation at meetings is encouraged, as is sharing experiences and observations that are of interest to members. Regularly scheduled field trips in the vicinity offer members the opportunity to experience various habitats. Contact us for more information. |

As part of the Nipissing Naturalists Club’s Species at Risk (SAR) Project, a full-colour poster presenting information on species at risk in northern Ontario has been produced for distribution. A total of 1,000 copies have been printed and are freely available at monthly Nip/Nap meetings. The new Species at Risk poster is also available in digital format from our partner, The Canadian Institute of Forestry, at: www.cif-ifc.org/site/species_at_risk |

The Nipissing Naturalists Club
book - Species at Risk in the
Lake Nipissing Watershed - is still available.
This book contains descriptions and summaries of the habitat of local native species at risk. If you think you have seen a species at risk, use this book to help identify it and report your sighting. Production of the book was a collaborative effort of the Naturalists Club, the North Bay Ministry of Natural Resources, Ontario Nature, Nipissing Forest Resource Management, and Dokis First Nation. |
